Pitching Mechanics Made Simple

Pitching Mechanics Made Simple

Pitching mechanics is simply how a pitcher uses their body to throw a pitch.

The key to pitching with power, efficiency, and accuracy is good mechanics. This means coordinating the various parts of the body to work together in a smooth, fluid motion.

Good pitching mechanics also require a certain amount of athleticism and coordination. Pitchers who have mastered these skills can throw with amazing power, accuracy, and precision.

Of course, none of this comes easy.

It takes years of practice and refinement to perfect pitching mechanics.

But the rewards are well worth the effort.

For pitchers who want to take their game to the next level, mastering the art of pitching mechanics is essential.

There are a few key things that all pitchers need to keep in mind when working on their pitching mechanics.

    • First, the legs should be used to generate power. The pitcher should start by having a stable set up on the mound with their back leg and feet. This will create a lot of torque and energy that can be transferred into the pitch.

    • Second, the pitcher should use their core muscles to generate even more power. The abs and lower back are key here. By engaging these muscles, the pitcher can really drive through the pitch and add some extra velocity to the pitch.

    • Finally, the arm needs to be in just the right position when the ball is released. Every pitcher has a natural arm slot that is best for them. Finding it will improve both the speed and the accuracy of the pitch. By keeping the arm in the correct position, pitchers can add both power and control to their pitches.

Of course, these are just a few of the things that go into building your perfect pitching mechanics. There are many other factors that need to be considered as well.

But if pitchers can master these key concepts, they will be well on their way to becoming a dominant force on the mound.

At Athletic Mission Baseball Academy we help pitchers fine tune their mechanics and pitch with more confidence and consistency.
